In this career talk, Lisa Kleinman will share learnings from her own 20 year career journey in User Experience based on advice that seemed good, but that she didn’t follow. By changing the lens on what it means to “own your career” and why sometimes it makes sense to settle for “second best,” Lisa’s talk will cover a range of experiences that are applicable for those just entering the workforce to those well established in their professional life. The format for this talk will also include an activity for the entire group to dive deeper into how to think about career advice in a more meaningful way.
About Lisa:
Lisa Kleinman is Director of User Experience at LogMeIn, a software development company in Karlsruhe, Germany. Lisa previously worked as a Research Scientist for Intel Corporation, and holds a Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
